MY FIRST SIGNING

The Waitsfield (Vermont) Wine Shoppe hosted a signing and tasting for me yesterday at their store and I ended up selling my own stock of books, both hardcover and paperback. It was great fun meeting mystery fans and talking about books and writing. 

I just tried to upload a photograph from the signing and wasn't successful, but in a few days I have a friend coming to help me with all the half-uploaded material on various sites. 

Vermont is the perfect place to launch my book. Cities are dead at this time of year, but the Mad River Valley is vibrant with theater events, art exhibits and various other events. My bookstore launch will happen on September 27th in the Burlington area. The last week of August I will be in my home town of South Hill, Virginia where friends have organized a big library signing and reading event on the 29th. It will be interesting to compare the various venues. I'm lucky to have the wine aspect because when bookstores are reluctant to host a reading for a new author, wine bars and shops are enthusiastic. 

Soon I will start planning a trip down to New York, where I have already been offered an interesting venue for a reading:  Madame X on Houston.  Perfect, I thought.  More about that later.

This week I will begin revising the second book in the series, BORDEAUX: The Mouton Murders. I don't want that deadline to creep up on me!
