WEST COAST BOOK TOUR

It has been an exciting month on the West Coast.  I started my book tour for BORDEAUX at Book Passage in San Francisco, a beautiful bookstore in the Ferry Building overlooking the Bay. Daughter Ramsey drove us back to Ojai to stay with friends, and then on to LA. We drove for what seemed most of the day along the magnificent Pacific Coastal Highway with its hairpin turns and tremendous heights. Even Ramsey had a breathless moment or two. Unforgettable!

The reading in LA at Small World Books was another full house, and owner Janice provided wine, and we had a party in the restaurant next door after. A fabulous event.

Next was San Diego at Mysterious Galaxy, a wonderful bookstore. (It has been such joy to discover the bookstores and their owners and employees.)  Ramsey and I stayed with friends in Bonsall outside of San Diego after, which was a great reunion.

I was excited to go to Scottsdale, Arizona, home of my publisher, Poisoned Pen Press, and the bookstore where many mystery authors launch their novels, Poisoned Pen Bookstore. Friends came from as far away as Tucson, and a FAN, Pat, also drove an hour in to meet me. Love it!

Finally, I flew to Denver to Book Bar, located in the Berkeley area of Denver, very artsy and lovely. The bookstore is a dream. I'll attach some photos as soon as I can.  It was a brilliant concept to combine a wine bar with a bookstore.  The reading took place in the lounge area, and it was intimate. The attendees were interested in all things French, including wine, and in writing. A great group. Thank you, Nicole Sullivan, and staff!

I am on my sister's 58,000 acre (It's so much fun to write that.) ranch in Wyoming for R&R. Great to be with family. I got up at 5:15 this morning to be on a radio show out of Warwick, New York. I want to look into going to the bookstore in that town.

Now it's time to wake up my two great-nieces and get them ready to go to their one-room schoolhouse close to the ranch.  I feel as though I were living in a different era, especially after the hectic pace of the past month.

Thank you all for being a part of my life on the road, Janet
